Accountancy represents one of the most financially secure and rewarding career options among the business management discipline. The certified public accountant (CPA) credential ensures a moderately high barrier to entry making job competition a bit more reasonable compared to other business sectors requiring no license or certification. In New Hampshire, the best way to prepare for the CPA exam is through comprehensive accounting degree coursework at one of the state’s 15 accredited universities. Some of the expected curriculum topics for students attending accounting degree programs in New Hampshire are:
- financial accounting
- accounting information systems
- controllership
- business valuation
- principles of auditing
- managerial accounting
- international managerial accounting
- cost accounting
- forensic accounting
- tax accounting
New Hampshire has many outstanding universities that offer business programs designed to help students prepare for the Uniform CPA exam. However, the top two schools that offer programs specifically designated as accounting degree programs are Southern New Hampshire University and University of New Hampshire. These schools are considered outstanding choices for those desiring an accredited accounting degree program because of their program flexibility, nationally recognized ranking, and comprehensive coursework.
