Licensing Information:

To get your license in Iowa, you need to meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or higher with accounting or business concentrations from an accredited institution. 24 hours need to be completed in accounting courses.
  • Transcripts need to made available for the board to review
  • Completion of the four-part CPA exam with a passing score
  • Payment of the necessary application fees
  • Even though there are educational requirements for the state, there are no specific residency requirements to become licensed in the state
