Licensing Information:
To become an accountant in Virginia, students will need to pass the CPA exam. They will also need to fulfill the requirements set forth by the Virginia Board of Accountancy, which include 150 credit hours and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in the state. Students must also pursue a major or concentration that is specifically in accounting in order to qualify for a license in the state. It is also required that individuals have at least one year of work experience in the field of accounting in order to receive a CPA license.
